Desperately Unpopular Joe Manchin Asks Hannity 'Why Am I A Democrat?'

Sen. Joe Manchin, one of the most unpopular senators in the country, spoke with Sean Hannity last night and strongly criticized President Biden and Sen. Schumer for their implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act. He says that it's far too focused on the environment as opposed to energy security. He vows to do what he can to repeal the legislation if how it's implemented doesn't change.

In a clip from the interview, Hannity asks Manchin whether he ever considers leaving the Democratic Party. Manchin responds: "I think about that every day: Why am I a Democrat?"

Manchin's comments are a sign of the growing divide between the Democratic Party and the American people. The party is increasingly seen as out of touch with the concerns of working-class Americans, and Manchin is one of the few Democrats who is willing to speak out about it.

It remains to be seen whether Manchin will be able to make any headway in his efforts to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act.
