Anchoring in 25 kts gusts with our Ranger Tug R-29

Emerson cruised from Everett, WA to Poulsbo, WA February 15th to February 17th 2023. We wanted to give our Mantus M2 anchor a test in safe, but real conditions. Our arrival was planned with the help of Savvy Navvy and Predict Wind in light winds with some gusts of up to 19 knots in the forecast. The safety of docks was close by and there weren’t any rocks to slam into. Gusts topped out around 25 knots, making for a rough night. With batteries depleted to 62%, we found out that the alternator of our Volvo Penta D4-320 does an impressive job charging the batteries, even at idle.

Special thanks for his excellent anchor testing to: @flygoodwin
