Shocking Signals from Voyager 1 Uncover Deep Space Secrets
And one of the most reliable of all spacecraft is NASA's Voyager 1, which is now billions of miles deep into space. However, the faithful craft is now giving scientists reasons to worry, as it has been recently sending strange signals from its current location. Is something wrong with the Voyager 1, or is it doing its job by sending serious warning signals? And one such eye that has remained faithful in deep space for decades is the Voyager 1, half of the famous Voyager pair of space probes. The probe launched in September 1977, about two weeks after its twin Voyager 2, and is more than 14.6 billion miles or 23.5 billion kilometers away from Earth, making it the planet's farthest spacecraft. According to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Voyager 1 is currently traveling through space at 38,000 mph or 17 kilometers per second.
