Nearly 300 people have died and 2,600 wounded in intense combat over the past week in Sudan. The fight between Sudan's regular army and the paramilitary Rapid support forces or RSF erupted on the 15th of April. Why has there been a rift between the two generals, commandeering army and the paramilitary, who had seized power in a 2021 coup? Primary reason has been over the planned integration of the paramilitary RSF into the regular army...Foreign diplomats have been attacked and reports of attacks and even sexual violence against aid workers have surfaced. With two attempts at humanitarian ceasefire failing, governments across the world are gearing to evacuate their citizens. Thousands have fled the capital city of Khartoum, hauling whatever belongings they could carry.
