Canada: Civil society groups raise concerns over nuclear energy – April 25, 2023

At a news conference on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, representatives from public interest groups join MPs to discuss their concerns over nuclear energy expansion in Canada and the development of small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). Taking part in the event are Susan O’Donnell (Coalition for Responsible Energy Development in New Brunswick) and Ginette Charbonneau (Ralliement contre la pollution radioactive), as well as MPs Elizabeth May (Green Party), Jenica Atwin (Liberal), Mario Simard (Bloc Québécois) and Alexandre Boulerice (NDP).
