Sermon Notes
Jeremiah 18:1-6
18 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words.” 3 So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. 4 And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do. 5 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

1. The potter forming the clay is a process.
1. Being molded into the image of Christ is a process.
Romans 8:28-29 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

2. Clay gets marred in His hands.
1. Things happen in life.
2. Hurts and disappointment mar us.
3. Everybody hurts.
4. Marred people put wear masks and guard themselves from hurt.

3. The Potter restored the clay.
1. Restoration is making something what it was supposed to be.
2 Corinthians 13:9 9 For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for.

Mark 11:25 25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
