Goal of an exercise is to use the
resistance to safely & efficiently
CHALLENGE THE MUSCLE
-more effective when you slow down
-helps prevent making form mistakes
When performing an exercise...
-move slowly
-under strict control
-HOLD where more difficult
-avoid positions that are easy
[wasted movement because
not keeping tension on target]
Take your time; move slowly...
-don't think about the dumbbells
-think about
-how you're moving shoulders
-how you're contracting muscles
At top: hard to hold it
-important that you DO HOLD IT
-avoid the bottom
Doing any intense resistance...
-the harder you train
-more muscles burn
-more tempting it is stop & rest
DON'T DO THAT
"If it is easy, avoid it"
