On Tuesday, President Joe Biden made a formal announcement that he will be running for reelection, potentially setting up a rematch with his predecessor, Donald Trump. In a video released on the same day, Biden positioned the upcoming election as a battle against Republican extremism and suggested that he needed more time to fulfill his promise of restoring the nation's character. Although Biden has a significant legislative record, his approval ratings are low and his age continues to be a source of concern. While no major Democratic opponents are expected to emerge, two candidates, Marianne Williamson and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have already entered the race. On the other hand, Trump has dominated the Republican side so far, launching his third bid for the White House in November.
