Gun Finish evaluation

Hello to all. Thank you so much for watching another video of mine. In this video, I am doing a quick evaluation of a product I used to finish my old 336 Marlin. This product is called Duracoate the color was (Tactical Black) and this went on like a satin black. This was exactly the color I wanted, not glossy but also not flat either. This finish took some metal prep and once sprayed took about 3 hours to cure enough to re-assemble, though knowing what I know now I should have let it sit for a full day before re-assembly. The finish is very hard once dry and it goes on smoothly and looks smooth as well just as long as you follow the directions and do multiple light coats first and then a heavier coat last. I am very happy with the product and will definitely purchase more if I get another gun to re-finish. The only spot the finish has started to come off is the ammo gate where you load rounds into the lever action. I probably needed to scuff that area up with more course sandpaper to make the product adhere better there but that is also where you load the ammo so the rim of the cartridge is dragging on the metal there so most anything will eventually come off of that area because of that. I hope this was helpful to some and I certainly appreciate you all watching. Thank you and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)
