Surah Rahman (Heart Soothing Recitation) By Sheikh Abdul Rehman As Sudais سورة الرحمن Chapter Number 55. Beautiful recitation, The first word and the name of this surah is “Ar-Rahman” Rahman is also one of the 99 names of Allah (SW). It means the most merciful. The surah starts with same word and name of surah is also Surah Ar Rahman.
Surah ar rahman is known as the “bride of The Quran” and the “Zeenat (beauty) of The Holy Quran”. It is because of the beautiful rhyme of verses of this surah.

Hadith – 1 (About this surah)
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) went to the companions and recited Surah ar Rahman but they were all quiet. He told them that he went to the jinn and recited it to them and they were responsive. And when he would recite the verses ‘And which of the favours of the Lord will you deny’ the jinn would respond ‘There is nothing among your bounties that we can deny, all praise belong to Allah’

Hadith – 2 (About this surah)
Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Everything has an adornment, and the adornment of the Qur’an is Surah Ar Rahman’

Period of Revelation
This Surah was revealed during the early stage of the Prophet's residence at Makkah.

Major Issues, Divine Laws and Guidance
a) It is Allah Who created man, taught him the Qur'an and taught him how to convey his feelings and thoughts.
b) Allah is the Rabb of the easts and wests. It is He Who made the laws to regulate the oceans: it's products and ships.
c) All that exists will perish except Allah.
d) No one can run away from the jurisdiction of Allah.
e) Sinners will be punished in hell and the righteous will be awarded paradise with lush gardens, springs, fruits and bashful virgins.
