BEFORE Angel Dior would become one of the hottest artists in the “dembow” genre thanks to a very special co-sign from none other than Bad Bunny, he was born Angel Rosario on October 27th, 2001 in the Villa Maria sector of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. There, Angel grew up on a street referred to all around the world as “La 42” – a terrain situated in the heart of the city that is considered by many locals to be one of the most dangerous places you can venture in the city. A self-described “normal boy” and the second of six children, Angel has been waiting his entire life for a stroke of luck that might lift his family up out of poverty. Surrounded on all sides by members of the working class, it didn’t take long for him to join the work force as just a small child, selling Chocolate alongside his father. Every morning, he’d wake up at around 6AM and walk around his neighborhood with a bag of chocolates to help provide income for his family while also doing his level best to stay out of trouble and dodge some questionable characters on the streets.
