American Airlines plane engine catches fire after bird strike

Officials stated that an American Airlines flight en route to Phoenix was compelled to return to Columbus, Ohio, its point of departure, for an emergency landing on Sunday morning.

The plane’s engine was allegedly set ablaze by a bird strike, CBS News reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration stated that the Boeing 737 commercial jet, which departed at approximately 7:45 a.m. local time, landed safely at John Glenn Columbus International Airport at around 8 a.m.
