Mom takes infant on 100-mph police chase in Woodbury
On May 30, 2021, a Woodbury Police Officer on routine patrol conducted a license plate check on a vehicle traveling in front of his squad car, which showed that the registered owner had a revoked driver's license and an outstanding felony warrant. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens and the driver accelerated to over 100 miles per hour, weaving through traffic.
Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, which brought the chase to an end shortly after. The driver was taken into custody and told officers that her four-month-old infant was in the backseat of the car.
The passenger had an outstanding felony warrant and was taken into custody.
The driver later pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor charge of fleeing police, and a charge of child endangerment was dropped. She was sentenced to 30 days of sentence-to-serve and one year of probation.
