The "pie plant" first picking April 22!

Saturday, April 22. And the weather has taken a turn towards cold. And windy. And what happened to the sunshine? I braved the weather to pick enough rhubarb to make rhubarb bars--like rhubarb custard pie, only no rolling out pie crust. It has been taste-tested and declared scrumptious. But what a boat-load of sugar it requires! I'll make and freeze rhubarb sauce with most of the rhubarb. Later. When the weather smiles again. Not today!
