In response to a small and vocal group of "public" commentary found in their rulemaking sessions, the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) last summer responded to advocates of the lighting features found in this video by stating the following.

"No formal consensus studies presently exist that can support the specific claims being made. There are certainly strong opinions, which can establish a defendable hypothesis, but more research is required. New language is structured to provide a simpler explanation and cover the general intent of altering optical characteristics and reference some available options." -NFPA TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

Public Safety personnel, many of who are law enforcement, appear to have suspended their investigative nature in favor of industry marketing materials and theories. Bellevue, Nebraska is one example of a department who is parroting the marketing literature of industry manufacturers.
