Love and Tears Darmin De'flern. Ballad, love song, 80s, 90s.

This song was originally written as lyrics sometime prior to 2002. Later in 2002 I created an instrumental version of the song which I included in an album called Live (2002).

Some time passed and I started to put some of my music into a website called mp3.com where various artists competed with each other based on track popularity. Its during this time I started talking to a fellow Welsh musician called the Bard of Ely. We often competed with each other in the various genres in the Cardiff charts.

The Bard of Ely suggested we meet up and he came up to my house in the Welsh Valleys. There we had a chat and shared our love of music. I mentioned I had a song called Love and Tears that had lyrics, instrumental and melody (mostly from the piano melody line) and would he care to be a guest vocalist on the track. He did and we recorded his vocals to the DAW there and then.

Love and Tears was then entered into the www.mp3.com website and garnered considerable success. Hitting number one in the Love / Ballad charts and number one in the Cardiff all format charts. It went on to get to number 4 in the Love / Ballad charts in the UK.,

The original tracks was my first attempt at creating a song on a DAW and with little experience the track suffered from my lack of knowledge in mixing and mastering. As such I always wanted to return to the track to redo it from scratch. As such this is a completely knew version of the track (whilst trying to stay close to the original recording in terms of instrumentation and tenor),.
