The Glycine Airman base 22 can be hard to find. Usually, Glycine Direct on Ebay has them, but look around for better price:

Otherwise, look for the new Airman 42: http://bit.ly/2V6dr6Z (reference)

Also, Massdrop usually has Airman every few months. So if your patient you can check them out. More on Massdrop at the bottom.

That's a lot of straps. Anyways today we are looking at the long-awaited review of the Glycine Airman Base 22 GL0205. An updated GMT version of the Classic Airman. Although it was discontinued a few years ago and replaced with the new Airman 42. Yet you can still find new old stock.

It's a 42mm wide watch, with a rather thin height of 11.2mm. Which is impressive considering it has a GMT movement and 200m of water resistance. All powered by Glycine's GL293 movement, which is really a Sellita sw330-1.

The airman is not a watch you buy or wear to impress others. It's a rather plain and military looking compared to many of the other GMTs on the market. Yet it's a watch that speaks to me personally. To my love of history, and for that part of me that seeks adventure.

One final note about Massdrop. They recently changed their name to just Drop. Not sure if that will bring any other changes.

Anyway, If you are not familiar, this is how they work. Massdrop has a different selection of items (watches and other gear) up every week. They refer to them as drops that are up for a limited time. You agree to pay a certain price for the watch, then when the drop is over they place a bulk order with the manufacturer. Once they get the item, they ship it to you. It usually takes a month or so before you get your watch, but they usually have good prices.

The link below is a referral link, so if you are not comfortable with that then just google them and you find them.

One downside to massdrop is that they are a considered grey market like jomashop. So manufactures warranties are not always honored. Plus I've heard some international buyers are annoyed with how they ship things. Sometimes listing the value as the MSRP not what they paid. So having to pay more importation fees.
