Welcome Users! Tron Lightcycle Run: A Must Ride?

My wife and I took a quick trip down to the magic Kingdom in Florida for a adult only weekend. One of the latest attractions to open in magic Kingdom, Tron Lightcycle Run, was something we definitely wanted to check out. As a fan of the original movie from the '80s, I couldn't wait. We got both a virtual queue and paid for the individual lightning lanes, was it worth it?

One of the things with this ride is the fact that there is no standard line. You have to either pay for the individual lightning lane which can change price depending on the day, or you have to try to enter a virtual queue at 7:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. We actually got into a virtual queue in the afternoon, but we also paid for the individual lightning lane. At $40 to ride this ride, it needed to pay off.

Our first experience from the start of the ride, it was extremely smooth. The initial launch of the ride vehicle was pretty intense. You launch out of the gate and approach 50 miles an hour, go up and over and incline into an exposed area, before heading back to the light cycle area. I'm not a fan of exposed heights but I have to say this was just fine.

If there's one take away I have, this ride is very smooth. There's a lot of quick motion left and right and I never felt like I was getting hurt or jerked around. The transitions were ideal. also, the track itself is very smooth. I would say it is up there with a Guardians of the Galaxy ride for smoothness.

So what I recommend it? Not really. Not for $40 for two people at least. It was fun, but it's over in less than 45 seconds. I'm glad we got to experience it, but we will not go out of our way to do it or pay for it again in the future..
