Greetings, dear friends! Welcome to yet another extraordinary edition of EyesWideOpen. Today, we celebrate a milestone - our 50th episode! Though the journey has been arduous, it has been nothing short of remarkable. Accompanying me for this memorable episode is the distinguished Croatian healer, Darko Velcek, who joins us from the depths of the Peruvian jungle.

A man of medicine by training, Darko soon found himself disillusioned by the conventional approach to healing, which prioritised the treatment of symptoms over the root causes. Unwilling to settle, he embarked on an odyssey that took him from Croatia to New York and eventually to the Caribbean, where he lived aboard a vessel for a quarter of a century.

During his time at sea, Darko stumbled upon the miraculous healing properties of seawater. Intrigued, he began investigating the age-old question: What is disease? The results of his research culminated in a groundbreaking book and a private practice that focused on healing through seawater and the proper diet.

In due course, Darko developed the Self-Healers Protocol, a revolutionary system that empowers individuals to reclaim their health without relying on doctors. Countless people have since overcome chronic ailments using fasting, seawater, and a ketogenic diet.

Fate intervened once more when a devastating hurricane left Darko shipwrecked in the Caribbean. With nothing but determination, he and his wife found solace in Peru. There, Darko continued his studies, practiced healing, and explored the mystical world of Ayahuasca under the guidance of Peruvian shamans.

On a personal note, Darko has graciously served as my mentor during my own water fast journey. I am currently on day 20, and I cannot express enough gratitude for his invaluable guidance. Darko's work is truly deserving of a wider audience.
