Supreme Court to Weigh Biden Student Loan Handout - Spike on Kennedy - 12/06/22 - part 3

Any polling can show whatever you want depending on how you word the question. The reason the Supreme Court is likely to rule that this is illegal for a very simple reason. It's Illegal. The president can't do something like this without the approval of Congress. There is no law that gives him the authority to do this. The reason people support this is because they recognize that there is a tuition crisis and a student debt crisis. Those were created by the government. There are two ways we can go about solving this. Number one is getting the government out of the lending business. Number two is to allow students to declare bankruptcy so the debt can be discharged in court which Joe Biden sought to block via laws passed in the 80's and 90's. This would make lenders pay only loans they would reasonably expect repayment on and force colleges to charge what their students can afford. If these debts are wiped wholesale, it's only going to encourage more and worse predatory lending and inflated college tuition.
