The Lyrid meteor shower, one of the oldest-recorded meteor showers, will produce 10 to 15 meteors per hour for three nights with an expected peak around 9:06 pm Eastern Time on Saturday. The best time to view them will be in the late evening on Saturday and continue through the early morning hours on Sunday, with one meteor expected every five minutes in areas away from light pollution.
