New York schools to change Indigenous names, logos, and mascots

New York State education officials have ruled that public schools must eliminate indigenous-related names and imagery, giving schools until the end of the year to make the changes or risk losing state aid. Dozens of schools will have to change their names and mascots, while schools that bear the name of an indigenous tribe can keep their name.
