Even though Miller High Life has been using the marketing slogan “The Champagne of Beers” for almost 120 years, the French champagne industry group demanded that it be destroyed for supposedly violating their trademark on the word champagne. A trademark that it has not possessed for nearly as long as Miller has used this slogan. Of course Belgian customs complied with this with it being part of the EU and seized 98 cases of their High Life beer for it to be destroyed. Which Miller’s parent company Molson Coors didn’t fight back legally against this even though it sets a bad precedent.

In this video we take a look at European officials doing the dirty work of the French champagne industry in a massive overstep of trademark law.
