MEXICAN COKE IS A LIE by @johnnyharris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJgQEpFMptQ&t=56s

Colona, Illinois

As I walk into Los Charros Mexican Restaurant in East Moline, Illinois, I can't help but feel my mouth start to water as the scent of Mexican spices fills my nostrils. My friend Denis Susac is already seated at a table, eagerly scanning the menu. I join him and take a look at the vast array of dishes on offer.

Denis is quick to order the carne asada, and I opt for the chicken tostadas. We both decide to try some traditional Mexican drinks; he chooses a Mexican Coke and I go for the horchata. As we wait for our meals to arrive, I can't help but comment on the similarities in global cultures and their foods. I point out that both Mexican and Serbian cuisines feature dishes with meat, beans, and rice, for instance.

When our food arrives, I can tell that Denis is already drooling over his perfectly cooked carne asada. My tostadas are piled high with seasoned chicken and fresh veggies, and they're accompanied by the most delicious guacamole I've ever tasted. We take a few bites, savoring the flavors, and then swap plates to taste each other's dishes.

As we eat, we discuss the unique flavors of Mexican cuisine and how they compare to other global foods. We both agree that the use of fresh ingredients, spices, and herbs is what makes Mexican food so delicious and distinctive. I mention that my horchata reminds me of a similar drink I had in India, and Denis adds that he's tried a similar drink in his travels to the Balkans.

As we finish our meal, we both agree that dining at Los Charros was an experience to remember. The food was delicious, the company was great, and we both learned something new about the similarities in global cultures and their cuisines. We both leave the restaurant with full stomachs and happy hearts.
