Bonnie Abadie For RISD Place 3 - Euan, Me & The ISD Vodcast

Host & Educator Euan Blackman talks with Richardson School Board Trustee Candidate Bonnie Abadie, running for Place 3 opposing incumbant Debbie Rentería. As a Richardson business owner of a martial arts training company, Bonnie hears from students and parents both inside and outside of school activity. It will be important to foster respectful behavior towards the teachers, as well as towards other students, because disrespect has become a significant problem both in keeping great teachers and on the escalated student bullying being experienced in the RISD right now. Getting back to a focus of classical education will prepare them for a future they can shape, and soft skills will improve their ability to navigate challenges that lay ahead.

Financial responsibility is another area that Bonnie can support RISD. We can do a better job of transparency, and working together, strategic planning can make more fiscal sense. Discussions about raising taxes or ending the homestead exemption are unnecessary with a different approach to meet the needs of our students and teachers.
