Is the Government Censoring Social Media? - Spike on Kennedy - 9/7/22 - pt2

We need to end executive privilege regardless of the current executive is on the right or left. The censorship we’ve seen happening on social media is not the act of a private company policing what is presented on their platform, but a direct coercion on the part or the government justified under the guise of controlling “misinformation”. The mask has come completely off during COVID; we watched Jen Psaki, Karine Jean Pierre, and even President Biden accusing social media of killing people. Fast forward, and we see how many things that would have been banned under the banner of misinformation or disinformation were true. When the government threatens lawsuits, legal action, or congressional hearings if social media companies don’t toe the line, it’s just government censorship with more steps. The 1st Amendment applies in these cases. The government should not be in the business of arbitrating what is misinformation, especially when they have a long history and several agencies dedicated to manufacturing and spreading disinformation. The best way to combat things that are untrue are to answer them with truths. We need to get the government out of social media and allow companies to make their own decisions without government coercion.
