Lights, Camera, Real Estate: Leveraging Video and Social Media for Real Estate Success

When Ashley Oakes Lazosky moved to Las Vegas, she never imagined she would end up in real estate. With a degree in film, she began creating engaging video content and leveraging social media to grow her business. In a recent podcast episode, she shared her strategies for hitting six figures and growing to seven in the real estate industry.

One of the key takeaways from the conversation was the importance of using video content to market oneself as a real estate agent. While many agents have opportunities to create videos, they often fail to share them effectively on social media and other platforms. Ashley stressed the need for consistency in creating and sharing videos, and the fact that it takes time to get comfortable in front of the camera and improve one's skills.

But how does one find the time to consistently create video content? Ashley suggests batching video content creation and being organized. She jots down video ideas in her phone's notes section, scripts bullet points for each video, and records 8-10 videos at a time with quick wardrobe changes. She emphasizes that fancy equipment is not necessary for creating effective videos and that highly produced videos can actually be less appealing to viewers. Instead, she encourages agents to create their own videos and brand themselves, even if it means doing their own home tours.

Ashley also stresses the importance of leading with valuable content that resonates with viewers. She suggests having evergreen content that can be shared across multiple platforms and chopping up existing content to reshare on different social media platforms to reach a diverse audience.

Throwing events and parties can also be a powerful tool for building strong relationships and generating referrals. Hosting community events, such as charity drives, neighborhood cleanups, or holiday parties, can help build a positive reputation and make meaningful connections with potential clients. When throwing events, it's important to plan ahead, provide value to attendees, and be present and engaged with everyone who attends.

At the heart of all these strategies is the importance of authenticity and engagement. Consistently putting out authentic and engaging content will help establish a real estate agent as an authority in their field and build trust with potential clients. And through community events and parties, agents can make meaningful connections and build a positive reputation in their local area.

So if you're ready to take your real estate business to the next level, it's time to grab your camera, hit record, and start engaging with your community.
