Sweet Pea Harvesting Tips

The sweet peas are in full bloom in my garden right now (I wish you could smell them!) I love harvesting jars full of blooms to bring inside. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣Here are a few tips to make the flowers (and smell) last as long as possible:⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣• Once blooms begin, harvest at least every other day to encourage blooming.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣• Blossoms will not open more once cut; harvest when all but the top few blossoms are open.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣• Harvest blooms in the morning.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣• Put stems in water right away.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣• Blooms last 5-7 days; adding a floral preservative will increase vase life by a few days. ⁣⁣⁣
