Minority Report was supposed to be a warning, not a documentary. University of Chicago Social Scientists have created an algorithm that they say can predict crime up to a week in advance with up to 90% accuracy. What could possibly go wrong? Things like due process and Civil Liberties might have problems with this. This was tried once before from 2012 to 2019 and was spectacular failure with only 13% of those targeted connected to the gang violence they were trying to prevent. In other words, 87% of the people being tracked were completely innocent. Let's test this system out by pointing the AI bots at politicians for a few years and see how many crimes we catch them in and then decide if we want to use it on everyone else.
