Trump's War On GOP's Social Security Plan Traps Gaetz

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said on Steve Bannon's War Room podcast last week that he believes House Republicans should support policies that would raise the retirement age for Social Security benefits. Gaetz also said he supports "deep cuts" to the budget outlined in Budget Committee Chair Jodey Arrington's (R-TX) proposal.

Gaetz said that he believes raising the retirement age is necessary to ensure the long-term solvency of Social Security. He also said that he believes Arrington's proposal is a good starting point for discussions about how to reduce the federal budget deficit.
