Former Navy Commander Warns Of Religious Fascism In Florida As Library Book Bans Surge

A former Navy Commander spoke out against book bans at a recent school board meeting in Martin County, Florida. He said that he spent the last decade of his naval career fighting religious fascism in countries like Afghanistan and Iraq.

The man said that he saw firsthand how religious extremism can lead to violence and oppression. He said that he is now seeing the same kind of extremism in the United States, and he is concerned about the future of his country. He said that he was motivated to speak out after he learned that several books had been banned from his son's school library
