WMA Club Meeting SS23 - Meeting XLVI: The Bemused ft. Akeiva M. Ellis, CFP

Hello and Welcome to the FDU Wealth Management Advisory Club. In this meeting, we have Akieva M. Ellis, CFP from The Bemused to come and speak to us.

Akeiva is a financial planner and educator and is also a former financial education specialist at Ballentine Partners LLC, a wealth management firm based in the Boston, Massachusetts area serving high net worth individuals and families. At Ballentine, Akeiva serves as co-leader of the firm's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion taskforce. Akeiva is the founder of The Bemused, a financial literacy service catering to young adults using YouTube video content and a formal education program called The Adulting Boot Camp. Akeiva has been quoted in articles for The Boston Globe, OppLoans, Tiller, and Bankrate. She has also been a featured guest on PlanStronger TV and on the Breaking Money Silence Podcast. Akeiva holds a master's degree in financial planning from Bentley University. She is one of the youngest Certified Public Accountants and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals in the nation and has a passion for helping young adults build wealth.

If this is your first time watching our videos, here is a cliff notes version of what our club is. Wealth Management Advisory Club aims to provide a space where students can develop an understanding of Wealth Management, learn the importance of setting goals to achieve financial success, enable students to discover their career passions, and create a sense of community for those interested in Wealth Management Advisory.

This club is open to not just all FDU Silberman Business Majors, but all majors at FDU are invited to come and join the club.

Reminders for our members:

1. We have purchased our very own Zoom License for the WMA Club. Zoom Meeting Links have changed. Please look at our emails and linktr.ee for the Zoom Meeting Link each week.
2. Go and follow all of our social media accounts on our linktr.ee.
3. Our club website is officially public and online. Go to our linktr.ee to view our new website. Please give us feedback on what you liked and what you disliked about it and any changes you think we should add. Please do not use the website that FDU Silberman make as it has inaccurate information.
4. If you have any ideas for future meetings like which speakers should come in or any topics that you would like to talk about, please let us know.
5. If you want to be added to our emailing list, please fill out the Emailing List Sign-Up Sheet on our Linktr.ee.
6. If you have not joined our GroupMe Group Chat, ask one of the members or e-board members so that we can add you in.
7. If you are interested in learning about stocks and want to invest money, come to Markets Update with Jon Budish and Rich Brenner every Tuesday from 3-4 PM on both campuses in the Bloomberg Labs and via Zoom.
