On Parliament Hill, federal ministers provide an update on ongoing bargaining efforts with the public service union as well as strike-related labour disruptions. In one of the largest strike actions in Canadian history, more than 155,000 federal employees walked off the job after the Public Service Alliance of Canada failed to reach a deal with the government. Taking part in the media availability are ministers Mona Fortier (president of the Treasury Board), Karina Gould (families, children and social development), Diane Lebouthillier (national revenue), and Sean Fraser (immigration, refugees and citizenship).
