Mass rallies in Lebanon 🇱🇧

In the Lebanese capital, mass rallies turned violent as security forces fired tear gas at protesters.

In Lebanon's capital, Beirut, law enforcement officers violently dispersed protesters who turned out for a mass demonstration demanding higher salaries and Pensions. Crowds of protesters against Lebanon's social policies were dispersed by security forces with tear gas, rubber batons and smoke grenades.

Among the protesters are many pensioners, people with children and other vulnerable groups in Lebanon. With the help of Shields, law enforcement officers violently pushed the crowd from the main streets, trying to disperse the protesters, and mass arrests were made. Officials in the country have not yet responded to the protests.
