Senator Marcos do Val, belonging to the center-right Podemos party, used his space in the Wednesday session of Congress to denounce that Lula da Silva’s Government knew that last Sunday’s protests would end in the break-in of the National Congress building.

“I want to make a denunciation for the people of Brazil,” started the speech of the representative of the state of Espírito-Santo.

“The day before the events, ABIN informed the Federal Government, the Federal District Government, and 48 other public entities that Sunday’s protests would not be peaceful”, he continued.

ABIN is the Brazilian Intelligence Agency, and according to the congressman, there is evidence that they were monitoring the conversations of several protesters.

According to the messages sent to the office of the presidency, there is no doubt that Lula knew what would happen and did not order any action to stop them.

“It was explained to the government that an extremist cell was going with the sole intention of invading the three powers to destroy them,” Do Val revealed.

“What impressed me the most was to know that the Minister of Justice, who took the opportunity to accuse him of incompetence, and President Lula, knew a day before everything that was going to happen,” he fired.

“They knew and did nothing.”
