Talk before Las Cruces City Council thanking the Mayor, LCPD, and Parks & Recreation Personnel
On April 3, 2023 we had gone before the Las Cruces City council asking for help in removing illegal encampments in the city park outside our bedroom window. Las Cruces Police officers cleared the camps 9 days later and that same day Parks & Recreation crews removed the shelters that had attracted the illegal encampments.
On April 17, 2023 we again went before the city council to express our thanks to those involved in clearing up this mess. On person that we had expected to help ensure our safety and peace of mind was the City Councilor for this area, Johana Bencomo, (District 4). She sided with the illegal, homeless campers and opposed us, her constituents, that just wanted our peace of mind back. This video is our talk before the city council with photos and videos added to visualize what we were talking about.
