The Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction Grant Hunter was in Coaldale on Tuesday morning to make a couple of funding announcements. He was flanked by town councillors as support. Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn explained what the two new projects are.

Hunter says the funding from the province comes in at around $500,000 for each initiative.

Hunter told us that over the past six years Coaldale has received around $6 million in Municipal Sustainability Initiative grant money. This funding can go to schools, hospitals, roads, or any projects municipalities are looking to complete.
