Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, and roughly 1000 other tech leaders and researchers recently  signed an open letter urging artificial intelligence (AI) research labs to halt the development of their systems because, as they argued, it's very possible that one of these labs may unintentionally produce an AI that escapes humanity's control.
