Cane Killed Abel by Merv Lilley

I found this song in a hardcopy version of 'Eureka: Songs that Made Australia' compiled by Warren Fahey (@bodgiefahey ) and published in 1984.

I came by this book thanks to the Yass Historical Society, who were downsizing due to a forced eviction (thankfully they have since found temporary accommodation).

Photos of cane harvesting and growing from Trove. I grew up in a Queensland Cane farming town, so this subject matter is quite familiar.

I cannot find a good biographical link to Merv Lilley, so grateful for suggestions.
