Cheryl Seaborn To Face Shannon Phillips | April 17, 2023 | Micah Quinn | Bridge City News

Cheryl Seaborn is the new UCP Lethbridge-West candidate following controversy from the previous candidate Tory Tanner who stepped down.

Tanner accused Lethbridge teachers of showing pornography to students and subsequently resigned following a video of her making the claim on social media.

Seaborn is a registered nurse, a University of Lethbridge alumna and a recent recipient of the Queen Elizabeth The Second Platinum Jubilee Medal for her work with the Kainai Nation.

She will be going head-to-head with NDP Lethbridge-West candidate Shannon Phillips. We asked Seaborn what it will take to dethrone the incumbent Phillips.

We also asked Phillips what her thoughts are of the new competition from Seaborn heading into the upcoming election.

As part of her campaign, Seaborn says she is also focusing on healthcare, tackling crime and strengthening the economic opportunities for business owners in Lethbridge-West.
