LIVE COVERAGE: Ongoing clashes between Sudan Army and RSF paramilitary in Khartoum Sudan with audio

Live from Khartoum in Sudan with audio on, following explosions and gunfire near the paramilitary camp of the Rapid Support Forces of Sudan.

Clashes erupted on Saturday in Soba and the suburbs of the city after days of armed confrontations between the army and the paramilitary organization. Electricity supplies and National Broadcast TV were affected by the ongoing clashes. 56 people were reported dead and hundreds are estimated to have been wounded in the city
The origins of the conflict stem from a disagreement regarding the integration process of the RSF into the army and its administration.

The RSF was formed by former militia groups who fought on the side of the government during the conflict in Darfur from 2003-2020. They were accused of war crimes against the non-Arab population.
