I was inspired to post this video by my YouTube friend Scott who has a rail fan channel "1960Gambit" on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@1960gambit) because he used a bluegrass instrumental version of this song as the opening an closing music on one of his videos a few days ago. I have heard and sung this song for my entire life. It is part of who I am because Jesus is my source, my very life. No matter the style of music, if it exalts the Lord Jesus Christ, it is good music in my opinion.
THIS is VERY GOOD MUSIC!

This is the Five Blind Boys of Mississippi singing the popular hymn "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms". Information on the hymn is below the video description.
This video was shot for a local television show in Chicago, Illinois on October 10, 1964.
The Five Blind Boys of Mississippi are:
(back row) Jimmy Carter (tenor), Lloyd Woodard (baritone), Jay T. Clinkcales (bass)
(front row) Willie Mincey (2nd lead) and lead vocalist Henry Johnson.

About the hymn from Wikipedia -
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms is a hymn published in 1887 with music by Anthony J. Showalter and lyrics by Showalter and Elisha (pronounced like the prophet Elisha in the Bible) Hoffman.

Showalter said that he received letters from two of his former pupils saying that their wives had died. When writing letters of consolation, Showalter was inspired by the phrase in the Book of Deuteronomy 33:27, "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms"

Showalter wrote the lyrics to the refrain in Hartselle, Alabama and asked Hoffman to write the remaining lyrics.

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain:
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk, In this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

(Refrain)

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
(Refrain)

REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS.
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.
PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD.
