Watch: Cape Town Mayor announce a R1.2bn Solar PV Project

South Africa - Cape Town - 17 April 2023 - Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis announced a R1.2bn solar PV project that is large enough to protect against a full stage of load shedding. This project is being funded by Germany, the UK, France and the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group after the City successfully applied for two projects with the C40 City Finance Facility (CFF), which assists cities by helping to develop climate change mitigation and adaptation projects into bankable investment proposals.
