MINNEAPOLIS - The top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks of the East and the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies of the West both lost their home playoff openers, and more worryingly, both clubs were without their franchise players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ja Morant because of injury.

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers rallied to overcome the Grizzlies 128-112 while the Miami Heat defeated the Bucks 130-117. Rui Hachimura of Japan scored 29 points while serving as a reserve, tying a National Basketball Association record.

The Lakers went on a decisive 30-11 run after Morant collapsed on the floor halfway through the fourth quarter, landing on his already injured right hand, and sent the Grizzlies reeling.
