This dear 9-year-old Ugandan girl who was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia at the age of 1, has to endure this type of excruciating pain almost daily. This is preventing her from living the normal life that any young child should be able to enjoy.

This video will give you some insight into what a typical day is like for the Seguya family. For Mary, there is no escape from the pain. She is not able to do so many things she'd love to be doing, and is always living in fear of the next attack.

There is hope however. Doctors were able to perform a bone marrow transplant on a 7-year-old Ugandan girl in 2008, and as a result, she was completely cured of sickle cell anemia.

Unfortunately, this operation is very expensive. We have therefore started a GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/ugandan-girl-needs-sickle-cell-operation to try to raise the funds necessary for this operation.

We are praying that if enough people can donate even a small amount, we can raise the money we need, to pay for the operation that will finally free Mary from the burden of this dreadful affliction.
