At the beginning of the 118th Congress, 5 heroic House members took a stand and refused to vote for Kevin McCarthy as Speaker unless he agreed to tangible institutional change. Soon their ranks swelled to 20. These brave members will forever be known as the "Freedom 20". What they accomplished cannot be denied. True change came to the House despite the Democrat media, some of their own colleagues and pundits in the conservative movement targeting these members as "terrorists".
