Chicken Brooder Upgrades - Episode 111

In this episode I show the first set of modifications/upgrades that we've done to our chicken brooder. We built a platform to help reduce the litter mess that the birds make in their feeder and waterer. We also built a lid for the brooder to prevent the chicks from flying out as they get older. We used 3/4" MDF, pocket screws, 1/2" hardware cloth, and staples.

I go over out current chicken brooder setup and some of the design decisions and requirements that went into it. I also discuss some of the additional considerations when starting to raise baby chicks.
