We are not on the same side
But how can I not admire, at least empathize
All your values sacrificed

When devotion’s your answer, your science, your religion, the art of our demise
Your moral imperative I’ve categorically denied

Your life is hurt when you’re within your sati pride
As we build our lives now
We can still hear your voice inside
And when our souls are folded up
I am offered a window into your void
When I close my eyes, I’m undisguised

Now I see you blinded by the heart
Burned by a hundred suns
With your wrath underlying us, how can duty and love be both,
How can they be one?

I felt your stabbing in the dark every day
For a hole where your light never shined through
Disenchanted with a life lived anyway
With no moon or stars in your sky, in the who-leads-who, what guides you
Strength in sympathy leaves nothing left to see

On the other side of the world you would have launched a thousand ships
So I shudder at the thought of modernity at your fingertips

Within all of our progress, our vitality, connections and change
A part of you still remains in the lives we arrange, just to rearrange

We still can sense the power of a beauty cursed in anguish and blessed rage
A dharmic self immolation
An inverse Gorgon gaze

Our life is loss where your hundred seeds forever lie
What’s there left for desire?
It’s under your fire
