Connecticut: Three people were shot and one police officer was injured Thursday as more than 200 people gathered for an “unauthorized music event” at Seaside Park in Bridgeport.

Bridgeport Police Department officers were dispatched to the large gathering in the area of West Beach at about 4 p.m. before hearing gunshots go off shortly after 6 p.m.

According to police, three people were shot, including a 24-year-old Bridgeport man, a 23-year-old woman from Waterbury and a 23-year-old Bridgeport woman. The victims were taken to area hospitals for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

A police officer reported suffering minor injuries during the pursuit and is “expected to be alright,” police said.
