Alchemical Meditation - level 1 Practice (learning to self observe moods thru the different centers)
Alchemical Meditation - level 2 Practice (learning to self observe moods through the different mind centres)
This is similar to the level 1 practice, although instead of switching emotions while attention is one centre we will be shifting attention and the same emotion through all the different centres.
Take a couple deep breaths, get centered in the here and now. Say to yourself - an intention, something like; I will be focused, helpful and will heal something today.
Take a moment to enter complete stillness. Try and completely relax your body. Just for a few brief moments pay complete attention to your body, feel your heart beating, feel the blood and energy flowing through, feel your body vibrating. Shift your attention to just outside your body, about an inch or two all around. Feel the energy there as well.
We will be working with two distinct and different emotional experiences, one positive and one negative. Let’s identify those now.
Think about a past positive emotional experience - maybe it was a loving moment, or blissful, or complete contentment. Or even a moment of pure happiness or excitement.
Now think back to a negative emotional experience - maybe it’s a major resentment to someone or something, fear or anger. Or even frustration or the feeling after an intense argument.
Ok. Focus on the heart area of your chest - your emotional centre. While your attention is focused here, recall that past negative emotional experience.
Take notice of the expression - the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy, of this emotion in the heart area of your chest.

Now, with that emotional experience in your attention shift between your other mind centre's. Move your awareness to your head area - your mental centre. Feel the difference in expression of the mood / emotion in this centre.
Then, with this mood still in your attention and awareness move your attention down to between your shoulder blades - your motor centre. Feel the difference of expression of this same mood in between your shoulder blades.
Take your attention and mood now to the next centre, your abdomen - your Instinctive Centre. Feel the difference of expression in this centre. What does the flavour, the quality, the mood feel like in this different centre.
Now move to the last centre, your genitals. The Sexual Centre. What does the expression of your mood feel like when you move your attention here.
Ok. Now we will do the same with the positive past emotional experience and bring your positive emotional experience between all 5 centres.
Focus on the heart area of your chest - your emotional centre. While your attention is focused here, recall that past positive emotional experience.
Take notice of the expression - the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy, of this emotion in the heart area of your chest.

Now, with this positive emotional experience in your attention shift between your other mind centre's. Move your awareness to your head area - your mental centre. Feel the difference in expression of the mood / emotion in this centre.
Then, with this mood still in your attention and awareness move your attention down to between your shoulder blades - your motor centre. Feel the difference of expression of this same mood in between your shoulder blades.
Take your attention and mood now to the next centre, your abdomen - your Instinctive Centre. Feel the difference of expression in this centre. What does the flavour, the quality, the mood feel like in this different centre.
Now move to the last centre, your genitals. The Sexual Centre. What does the expression of your mood feel like when you move your attention here.
Realize how the expression of these emotional states changed through the difference energy centre's of the Mind, and yet the same mood was being held in attention.
This practice will help us recognize how different emotions feel in our bodies and eventually we can transmute these energies (even cravings and trauma). Our false selves will peel away and lose their power and influence, leaving room for our true authentic selves to be.
Bring your attention back to your surroundings and recognize and appreciate the work you have done in this meditation practice.
